Thomas “Tommy” Davis

Founder & Chief Executive Officer

Mr. Davis has more than two decades of experience working with numerous high-profile, ultra-high-net-worth individuals entertainment industry icons, as well as multi-national corporations and their CEOs and Boards of Director. He is a highly effective strategist who has successfully overseen multiple crisis situations, complex business issues, and countless finance and political communications challenges—many of which often required long term strategies to handle both the immediate situation and address the underlying causes to eliminate reoccurrences.  He draws on his background as a proven and effective communicator both in front of and behind the camera and is highly regarded in the communications industry with media relationships that span decades across the world’s most powerful media outlets.  He is known for his unflinching and vociferous defense of his clients while earning the respect of those he finds his clients in the crosshairs of. Many of the matters he handled to the best result are the ones no one ever heard about.

Davis Swan continues to serve as a senior advisor and consultant to Mr. Barrack, most recently advising Mr. Barrack on litigation strategy, situation management, media and PR matters including Mr. Barrack’s capacity as Chairman of the 58th Presidential Inaugural Committee for President Donald J. Trump. Mr. Davis worked closely with the legal team representing Mr. Barrack throughout his Federal criminal case in the Eastern District of New York resulting in Mr. Barrack’s complete vindication by being acquitted on all nine counts.

Before founding Davis Swan, Mr. Davis was the General Manager, North America and a member of the Executive Committee of Consolidated Press Holdings Pty Ltd (CPH) where he oversaw the company’s North American investments in technology, hospitality, restaurants, resorts, casinos, television and filmed entertainment. Additionally, Mr. Davis handled internal and external communications, provided strategic counsel to Mr. James Packer, the company's Chairman, and saw to the establishment and management of Mr. Packer’s personal offices and staff.  In his role as head of North America for CPH, Mr. Davis oversaw Mr. Packer’s investment with Warner Brothers in a slate of 75 films including a number of highly acclaimed and successful films.

Prior to joining CPH, Mr. Davis was Senior Vice President and Chief of Staff to Thomas J. Barrack, Jr., Executive Chairman and Founder of the private equity firm Colony Capital (NYSE: CLNY) with $58 Billion in AUM.  As Mr. Barrack’s Chief of Staff, Mr. Davis directly managed Mr. Barrack’s special projects, his personal PR and Media and public appearances, as well as interfacing with his family office. As SVP of Colony, Mr. Davis oversaw external communications including all corporate investor, media, and public relations. Mr. Davis was also responsible for special projects including such notable projects as the restructuring, PR/Media strategy and ultimate sale of Miramax Films, Colony American Homes and Sonofi as well as serving as the Colony representative on the board of Adaptive Studios. 

Prior to Joining Colony Capital, Mr. Davis was Head of External Affairs for the Church of Scientology International where he was responsible for all public, media and government relations as well as special situations management for the Church globally, including 15,000+ Churches, Missions and Groups in over 150 countries.  He also served as the Church's chief spokesperson appearing on Nightline, 20/20, The Today Show, CBS This Morning, CNN, the BBC, Entertainment Tonight, The Insider as well as major dailies and weeklies, including The New York Times and The New Yorker. During his tenure representing Scientology, Mr. Davis cemented his reputation as one of the most respected and formidable PR representatives in the business, known for uncompromising protection of his client while maintaining professional and long-term relationships with the media.

Mr. Davis graduated from The Harvard School for Boys (now Harvard-Westlake) in Los Angeles, California and attended Columbia University in New York City.
